Here is a really funny video called the Dewey Decimal Rap by Scooter Hayes. Check it out!
Scooter Hayes is a Children’s Librarian at New Hanover County Public Library in Wilmington, North Carolina. While getting his Masters in Library Science at East Carolina University, Hayes created The Dewey Decimal Rap for a class project. Since then, the video has gotten over a million views on YouTube and Hayes has released two children’s albums as Melvil Dewey – International Library Hip Hop Superstar. Hayes performs regularly across the United States advocating reading and teaching about the importance of libraries in our schools and communities. Complete with book turntables, a rapping book mark and golden library cards, this high-energy hip hop artist empowers children to speak up for their library and encourages them to become lifelong readers.
